Arctic Fox Interview Osteria, Tweed Coast NSW | Tahaliah + Lewis

Every wedding venue has it’s own unique style, but making that venue truely unique to a couple is the job of a stylist, and the team from Arctic Fox Weddings, does that at Osteria time after time, creating beautiful floral creations and overall style design for both simple and luxe weddings.

Arctic Fox owner and founder, Katie was the mastermind behind this amazing wedding and she shares a little more about how it all came together for Tahaliah + Lewis and some tips and helpful info if you’re looking to book a stylist or florist for your wedding day.

What was the brief from the couple?

“Tahaliah + Lewis came to us with two words ‘winter romance’ BUT… the colours had to have some ‘punch’, so that’s exactly what we delivered.”

Top tips for briefing a stylist/florist?

“Photos are great, though knowing what it is you like about the image is the most helpful. For eg if you have an image of a bouquet, work out what it is you like about it. Is it the colours, the shape, the specific flowers? Having your photos organised is also a great help, eg all ceremony inspo together, reception table scapes etc.”

Rough budget a couple should allow for a full arbour and hanging installation?

“The most popular options for Osteria is the corner piece on the rectangle wooden arbour and a 3m hanging installation. I would approx. $3000 for these two.”

How long did it take to create the floral masterpieces for this wedding?

“Creating florals spans the course of a few days pending the booking. For this one we picked up all of the flowers on the Thursday prior to prep & condition them, Friday the arrangements, bouquets etc were created and Saturday we were on site bringing it all together and hanging the arbour pieces.”

Ways to save money on your florals?

“Re-use where possible! Choosing something for your ceremony that can be re-purposed in your reception space can save you hundreds, if not thousands. Also, chat with your fiancée about the items you definitely want and see if you’re just getting things for the sake of it or to please others.”

What are some things that a stylist does that couples may not know about?

“All the pre & post wedding prep for their special day. Things like the cleaning/ laundering, the venue/ supplier liaising, sorting out stationery in order for your guest tables to name a few. It’s the little things that bring the day together as a whole.”

What’s the best part about styling a venue like Osteria/Acre/Ancora (which ever venue relevant to the wedding)?

“Osteria is great because the bare bones are already beautiful. You really don’t need to do a lot to enhance the beauty of the space though when you choose to it’s extremely versatile to any brief.”

What was your favourite part about this wedding?

“We absolutely loved working with the punchy colours for this one. Tahaliah looked stunning and her flowers really popped against her dress, especially with her beautiful hair colour.”
